World Cup Tips Morocco - Iran

World Cup Prediction Morocco – Iran

Both teams want to win this match to start the competition in the best way.

State of form

After playing its last World Cup in 1998, Morocco is making a comeback in the most important international competition this summer. The Atlas Lions made a very good impression during the playoffs in the Africa zone by winning the 1st place of a group that included the Ivory Coast, Gabon and Mali and conceding no goals. Since last March, Hervé Renard’s players have played five friendlies. They first won against Serbia (2-1) and Uzbekistan (2-0). More recently, Mehdi Benatia’s teammates were held in check by Ukraine (0-0) before taking the measure of Slovakia (2-1) and Estonia (1-3).

Opposite, Iran has quietly validated its ticket to the 2018 World Cup after finishing in first and unbeaten group A qualifiers in the Asian zone, ahead of South Korea in particular. The qualification in hand, the selection managed by Carlos Queiroz has subsequently played 10 friendlies (7 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses). In March, Iran dominated Sierra Leone (4-0) and Algeria (2-1), but lost to Tunisia (0-1). During the preparation matches, Ashkan Dejagah’s partners first overtook Uzbekistan (1-0), before losing to Turkey (1-2), then finally overthrowing Lithuania (1-0).
